The Journal of Spatial Intelligence and GeoAI publishes original research at the intersection of geospatial science, artificial intelligence and spatial intelligence. The journal welcomes research involving geospatial artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, spatial analytics, computer vision, Earth observation, remote sensing, GIScience, spatial modelling, geocomputation, digital twins, intelligent mapping and related computational approaches.

Particular emphasis is placed on research that demonstrates meaningful scientific or practical advancement rather than the routine application of established algorithms to conventional datasets.

Our Editorial Philosophy

The journals seek to promote research that is:

• Original – contributing new knowledge, methods, evidence or interpretation;
• Rigorous – supported by appropriate methodology and analysis;
• Transparent – providing sufficient information to enable assessment and, where possible, reproduction;
• Interdisciplinary – encouraging meaningful connections across geospatial, environmental and computational disciplines;
• Ethical – complying with recognised standards of research and publication integrity;
• Globally relevant – welcoming research from all geographical regions while giving particular attention to challenges and opportunities relevant to Africa and the Global South.
